Q: Aperture will only import photos into the Aperture library.

Having a problem that only began recently:  When importing photos I always store them outside of the Aperture library in their own folders.  Lately, even though the import settings specify a directory that I choose, Aperture ignores this and imports into the Aperture Library.  Anyone have any idea how to correct this?

Thanks,

Robert

    Robert,

if Aperture does ignore the settings you specify on import, you may have a corrupted preferences file.

To check, if this is really the case, try to import images using a different user account. Create a new user account for testing, if you do not have one, or use the "Guest" account.

If Aperture works correctly from a different account, quit Aperture, log off and on again, and remove the Aperture user preferences to the Desktop, as described in "Aperture 3: Trouble Shooting Basics".

    Then try again.

Post back, if this does not help.

    Regards

    Léonie

Thanks Léonie.  It was a corrupted preferences file that was the culprit.  I deleted it and all is back to normal.
