Disable Auto Trailing Slash in URL Bar

If I click in the URL bar it auto-selects the entire url. If I then hit the right arrow key to move the cursor to the end of the url, it auto-inserts a trailing slash (/). How can I disable this?

Safari 6 is very developer unfriendly:

1. Automatically adding a trailing slash where it does not belong

2. Hiding the http part of the URL then adding it to the clipboard when I DID NOT select it when I copied the URL

3. The extremely useful Acitivy window is gone. You have to open the inspector BEFORE you load the page otherwise it will not capture the resource. It takes 10 clicks what used to be just 2.

4. Unified URL/Search bar

Sadly Apple always knows best and does not give options to developers. Frustrating! Opera manages the URL bar a hundred times better.
