i want to know about Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

I have a late 2011 Macbook that came with the Intel 3000 built in graphics.

Your graphics card is being driven by your Macbook's processor since it's one of those built in graphics and your graphic card's RAM is shared with your Macbook's RAM. So if you have 4GB of RAM in your Macbook - you can kiss 384MB goodbye since that's put aside for your graphics card.

You can play games with your built in graphics card and some users here use their 13 Inch Macbook Pro to play Diablo3, WoW and other games. Will not perform as fast as a discrete graphics but it's playable.

it's a built in graphics that uses 384MB of your system's RAM...

once you upgrade your RAM to 8GB, your built in video will use 512MB of your system's RAM.

your processor is the one driving your built in video.

1. Better than a dedicated graphics card? Depends on what card you are talking about, check out the benchmarks here, http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

2. Quality when playing games? Depends on the game, I can play Diablo 3 at all low settings with ok fps on my Intel HD 3000

3. Can it support 3d games? yes

it all depends if you're comparing the same specs as the windows notebook you're comparing it with.

you have to remember, your processor is not only processing your games, it's also driving your built in video to make the game playable. will you experience lag - more than likely yes.

Its hard to sum up in one line. It's pretty good for integrated graphics if you upgrade your RAM to 8GB. If the games you want to play are really graphic intense then it will probably struggle, but if they aren't that graphic intense you should be fine.

at the end of the day, your macbook can play games - no question about that.

is it the best in the business for playing games? i would say not - because of the overheating issues.

other than that, it's the best looking notebook out there - by design that is - my opinion......

Asus - Samsung and Lenovo are starting to sell notebooks that looks like a MB Air....
