Not able to put ibks files into the assets boxes in iTunes Producer

I have used iBooks Author to create ibks files for my book and for the preview of my book. When I get to the screen in iTunes Producer where you are asked to select the appropriate publication and publication preview files, I'm not able to select those files. I can see them in Finder but can't drag and drop them. Why doesn't ITP recognize these files as appropriate?
