I need to wipe out my ipad, but after doing so when I reconnect it to my itunes will it retrieve the notes and contacts?

Only if you restore the iPad from a backup .... And if the Notes and contacts are in the backup. So... Backup your iPad before you wipe it and then restore from the backup when you set it up again.

No ... You can't remotely back it up. I suppose that you had planned on remotely wiping it though??
I did...will it back up to exactly what it was prior to the last back up to icloud?
