MacBook Pro experiencing kernel panics regularly...

Hello,

Model Name: MacBook Pro

Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1

Processor Name: Intel Core Duo

Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz

My laptop is having kernel panics and forcing shutdowns while using Illustrator CS5. What can I do to fix it? Also, the external mouse has started lagging, while the mousepad works fine. Not sure if that's a symptom or a separate issue.

Here's a copy of the kernel panic report:

WHAT mouse are you using?

Google Chrome makes worse a problem on the latest MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Those panic logs directly implicate Chrome as the offending software (it crashes in Google Chrome with a page fault).

Google has an updated version of Chrome that greatly reduces the problem.

Apple has a software update that makes the problem much less acute.

I'm going to try your first suggestion, Grant. I've removed the mouse. The only other USB devices I use are a Canon Scanner and an HP printer, and the problem hasn't occurred while either were in use. That the problem concurred with mouse lag definitely makes me suspect it is the problem.

Thanks all for your assistance, I really appreciate it.
