I'm considering getting the Newertech nupower 60w battery for my Macbook Pro 2.2ghz.

Anyone got this who can share their experience? What's the verdict?
There's also an 58w variant for $6 less. On Amazon the 60w has 5 stars and the 58w got 1. Both only one review.

Do you have a Core 2 Duo Mac? As that is what that battery is for. The newer 15" Mac's with "i" CPUs use an 85 watt AC adapter.
I had a NuPower battery for my 2006 model after I had run through two Apple batteries. I can't recall if I got the 58 or 60, but I know that I got better battery life from the NuPower battery than I got from my Apple-branded. I'd just go with the higher watts/hour - it's not that much more.

Thanks for sharing clintonfrombirmingham, However, I've heard that those batteries sold say 4-5 years ago aren't exactly the same as they are selling now and I haven't been able to find up to date reviews on the newer ones. Newertech have been around a long time though, so I feel I can put more trust in them than no name batteries that sells very cheaply.

You can always buy the Apple-branded batteries, you know. They're still available through the Apple Store - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA348LL/A. They get horrible reviews, though, for one because they don't hold the charge that the NuPower does. And, they're more expensive.
I would trust both OWC and the NuPower batteries - they may actually be better than those they were selling 4-5 years ago!
