Is this article maybe working on the new operating systems?

How can i be sure of the speed of my connection if i reduce it to 1400 or 1300? If i go down with MTU the lower will be my connection?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

If your broadband connections (such as PPPoE) adds extra packet headers, then your normal 1500 byte packets will be split slowing down your connection worse than not sending a few extra bytes per packet.


You could try using a utility that attempts to find the optimal MTU value.
