no url/adress bar

Hi, my adress bar went lost with the little cog. I have splent hours trying to find a sollution. The only things I see is bookmarks and tabs, I run windows so no bar in the top to help me. If i right click on any of those bars just comes up "create new folder" or "new tab". I have tried Ctrl+Shift+\, without sucess it just zooms. Is there a command for getting to the menu?

This might be indicating damage to the com.apple.safari plist file.

Although it's for a different problem (and an older version of Safari), try the instructions from the following user tip.

Does that get the Toolbar back?

(It resets a few other preferences to their defaults too, so after rebuilding the plist, it would pay to check through your preferences in case there's any customised ones there that have been reset.)
