How do you control the ordering of smart mailboxes placed in a smart mailbox folder??
It looks like you can't control it and that the ordering is somehow random, right? It's definitely neither in order of items placed not is it in alphanumeric order of the smart mailbox names...
The ordering appears to be 'undefined'! If this is a bug that annoys you too, how do we get this raised to be fixed??

Convert to Mountain Lion where you can drag and drop them in any order.
Oh great! Thanks for the info. So a good reason to upgrade.. but seems like I'll need to wait for 10.8.1 to fix the reported laptop battery life issues:

Have upgraded to ML 10.8.2 and unfortunately seems like this is NOT the case... @captfred you maybe didn't see the bit "smart mailboxes placed in a smart mailbox folder"
Older versions of OSX allowed the regular smart mailboxes to be ordered by drag/drop but you can't do this inside a smart mailbox folder, and this is STILL the case, unfortunately. 😟
