Can an unused iPod go bad?

To be more specific, the 3rd generation nano.

I've been searching around and found someone who is selling their iPod.

This person bought the nano the day it came out.

That was like 6 years ago and that they barely used it, only twice so she says.

The price for it is 75 dollars. So I want to know if it's safe to buy the iPod or not.

I mean can the ipods battery turn into crap since it hasn't been used for 6 years?

Oh yeah incase you're wondering, I already have an iPod touch that I purchased from apple.

Thanks in advance!!!

Yes. The lithium-ion batteries that are used in the iPod Nanos are designed to have constant activity. If they don't, they quickly deteriorate and lose their ability to maintain a charge at full capacity. After 6 years the battery probably isnt anything like what it used to be.

However, it can be replaced if you still want to go that route and purchase the used Nano anyways.
