How can I format a micro SD card to Fat32 on my iMac?
I have a 32 GB Class 10 Samsung micro SD card. I need it reformatted to Fat32. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you!

Open the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, select it in the list on the left, choose the Erase tab, and specify MS-DOS as the format.

Thank you, Niel, this helped. However, this brings up two new questions. How do I ge the micro SD card into the computer so that Disk Utility can see it, and isn't MS-DOS a Windows format? I'm needing to format the card to FAT32.
Hi.
You will need to acquire a card adapter to use in the standard SD card slot... or a USB card reader that will accept the micro-SD and connect to the computer via USB cable. Then you can use Disk Utility to reformat the card.
FYI... the MS-DOS option in the partitioning section of Disk Utility refers to a FAT-32 partition, and yes, that has been a Windows standard since forever. 😉
I hope this has been helpful.
I still can not find anywhere how to reformat the sd card or to delete files or photos from card 😟
go get a windows pc and format it there
As per D I Johnson's instructions when you erase the card when formatting it will erase all data and reformat the card. Usually you will get a prompt saying all data will be erased.
Most camera manufacturers actually recommend (or specify) that the card be formatted while in the camera. Formatting it there will delete all the photos. So, check your camera's manual on how to do this if you do not want to use Disk Utility.
