Q: error message: com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.

I have just downloaded some updated software for my TV (Sharp) which has arrived in a .pkg file.  Normally this would "unpack" and be available but I get the following error message:  com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.

 

This is using OS 10.7.4

 

Any ideas how I can unpack this file?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

    Further to my posting above - I have realised that I do not have to unpack the file further before plugging it into the TV !!

     

    So all is well, and I can watch the Olympics again !!

    had the same issue when I downloaded a software update for my Sony HDTV - the same people must write the download instructions for Sony and Sharp lol - because I didn't realize, either, that the downloaded package didn't need to be opened on my iMac - until I found your posting!!!

     

    thanks to you, I was able to update my Sony HDTV's software!

     

    wish Sony (and Sharp) would make their download instructions more specific!!!
