If I FaceTime someone will it use up my text, talk or data?
FaceTime currently only works over Wi-Fi, so no, it does not use up your text, talk or data.

FaceTime, currently, only works over WiFi. So, it does not use any carrier minutes or data.
I wouldn't say this case is closed. I have an iPhone 5c on t-mobile. I've tested this multiple times and face time video does use both my minutes and data. I don't how it manages to use minutes, I just know that it does. It could just be a t-mobile thing, though. Any suggestions of ways to call without using minutes would be greatly appreciated. My plan is very limited on minutes.
Perhaps you can try using Facetime in airplane mode on wifi. I would think that would prevent it from hitting your talk minutes.
Hello, LanndisD. I understand that you may be worried about using a lot of minutes, text, or data when using FaceTime to talk with others. I hope I can clear this up correctly. If you use FaceTime when you are connected to a wifi network, FaceTime will use the wifi connection to send and receive FaceTime calls. If you use FaceTime when you are connected to your cellular data network, FaceTime will use your cellular data connection to send and receive FaceTime calls(it will not use your minutes or text). For further information, if you have an iPhone 4, you must be connected to a wifi network to use FaceTime. If you have an iPhone 4s/5/5c/5s, you can use FaceTime over a cellular data connection.
I thought that FaceTime is using internet to provide a talk. When I bought my iPhone 5s, I tested FaceTime and after one conversation I checked my billings and I saw that I used maybe 300mb for 1 hour talk. It's a little amount of bandwidth.
It´s a video chat with 1080p! If you don´t need video, use FaceTime Audio!
Yes I know. That's why I wrote about 300mb after one conversation.
