Aluminum Wireless Keyboard not connecting to Macbook

My wireless keyboard isn't connecting to my 2008 Aluminum Macbook. It can connect to my iPad, but for some reason, my Macbook is not detecting it. I have tried to connect it, but failed. If you are able to help me, it would be appreciated.
