Q: Is my iPod classic 160gb supposed to make clicking sounds?

Is my iPod classic 160gb supposed to make clicking sounds?   I can hear the drive.  I was just wondering.  It's almost like its farting.  And it lags slightly. If that's normal please tell me.

    Sounds like you are just hearing the normal sounds that a hard drive makes. Because there is a drive in the Classic iPod, there is some lag and that is normal.

     

    I have a 6th generation iPod Nano and when I go to play a song, it plays instantly but that iPod has a flash drive.

     

    How old is your iPod?
