Everytime I touch to open an app, Facebook, USA Today, ABC News, etc, ..tons of apps won't work. Only the "basics" (email, app store, calendar, music, photos) work and a couple non-basic apps like Twitter and Netflix work, but if I hit Facebook, for example, the screen goes black for a split second and goes back to the home page, basically not allowing me to go on Facebook or 90 percent of my apps.
I have tried rebooting. Any ideas?
Download and launch any free app to unfreeze the frozen apps.
I downloaded the free LinkedIn app. I opened it up (worked fine) but Facebook and all of the others still won't open. It still does the split-second blackout and back to the home screen.
Try this:
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar
2. Hold down the Facebook icon for a second or two until the minus sign appear
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Tap the area above the Task Bar to return to Home page
5. Re-launch the Facebook App
Weird. Not working. I googled my issue and noticed your first idea has worked for others (it led me back to these forums, as it seems to be a common issue.) I've reset it multiple times and did the free app download attempt to unfreeze the apps. Still acting up.
Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.
This is kind of weird...
What I did is: I deleted the Facebook app and redownloaded it. Works. However, USA Today and my other apps still act up. I guess I'll have to delete and redownload them. I'll give you the green checkmark since you helped me out. Thanks!
