Q: "no SIM card installed" message

sporadically getting this message on a 5 month old phone only for last 5 days.  Software is 5.1.1 and when I checked carrier software (Rogers 12.0) was not prompted for an update.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

I have an iPhone 4 (not S) and I started having this trouble from time to time when I updated my phome software to OS6. I could fix it then by turning off and on the phone. Then 2 days ago, after having to deal with this error message 3 times in 5 hours, the turn off/turn on fix wouldn't work anymore.

I tried all the tricks from Apple Support (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148) to no avail.

Finally I realized that my phone did not have the latest software update and I updated it to OS6.0.1 and that did the trick. Seems to be working fine now.

    Good luck!
