Looking for Canon PIXMA iP1600 printer driver for OSX 10.7 Lion ?  One Apple site indicates Canon does not have one but that a generic (?) driver may work, or there may be one with the OS.  Another Apple support site shows Canon Printer Drivers v2.9 for OS X for OSX 10.7 Lion ! ? ?

If you refer to this list of printer drivers available from Apple, the Canon iP1600 is in the list. So when you connect the iP1600 to your Mac, you should get a window stating that the driver is available from Apple and do you want to download and install it.

If you don't get that message or another message about the driver cannot be found then you can download the Canon Printer Drivers v2.9 package you mention. This package has printer drivers for all the Canon inkjet printers in that list, of which your iP1600 is one of them.
