Seconds missing between imported clips???

Hello,

I'm am working on a project that requires a rather large .VOB import. Approximately an hour of footage. I instructed the camera to import the entire batch, but I've noticed that there are seconds missing between the clips, roughly two seconds. Since my footage is of a rapid speaking individual these missing seconds are noticeably awkward.

I have tried clip trimming but am not able to access those seconds of video. The footage is visible in clip trimming, but is grayed out and inaccessible.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

Is there a setting I can change before the import?

Any editing tips beside just slapping a transition between them to smooth it over?
