world clock issue

I've got this as my setting:

The widget will only display the i if you're hovering over it with you mouse.

I had the same problem. It looks I was able to fix this using the steps below:

1. Make sure you have a current backup, such as a Time Machine backup!

2. Go into Dashboard and close the World Clock widget(s).

3. Start the Finder app.

Select from the menu Go -> Go to Folder _or_ press SHIFT + COMMAND + G keys and enter

~/Library/Preferences then press the Go button.

There you should see the file widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist and maybe also widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist.lockfile

Delete them

4. Open Terminal and type the following command (case-sensitive): killall Dock

Did you remove all the World Clock widget's from your Dashboard first before you deleted both files?

Hi Erwin:

I looked for the com.apple.... file you mentioned above in my library/preferences. However, I cannot find any file with such name in that folder or anywhere in my MacBook Pro. And though I can see the "i" (info) button when I hower over any of my widgets, non of the "i" buttons seem to work at all since I did my upgrade. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is dat you opened the folder /Library/Preferences while it should be

~/Library/Preferences

(see step 3 in my previous posting) It's important not to forget the ~ sign

I have the same bug on my Mac Book Pro just upgraded to Mavericks. But deleting the .plist file doesn't fix the problem for me.
