Reminders app is Dismal
I can understand why having the Reminders app on the Mac would make new users moving from an iPad feel more at home.
But what about the rest of the Mac users that have been users for decades???
I think the problem I'm having is that the To Do lists (Reminders) have been removed from the right side of iCal (Calendar in Mountain Lion) in favor of this new dismal 2nd app strategy… I see no reason why the new reminders app couldn't co-exist with Calendar and it's right side To Do list column so that we the users have the choice.
The Reminders app even has a "Calendar" in it, proving that Reminders should maybe still be in the Calendar app and not separated out.
Another problem is that if I use separate lists to organize Reminders, the app doesn't even have a way to see all my reminders at one time? What a pain! In iCal I could not only see all my reminders I could color coded them by Calendar (list).
Also, 99% of my Reminders never have any Time, Date or Location info associated with them, so the nice new notification center dos not show them and I'm stuck forgetting about them because they are out of sight hidden away in the new awful extra Reminders app…
On an iPad or iPhone with the limited screen sizes, I can see the need for separating the info out into another app, but the screen size of most Macs is not an issue so it makes no sense to take away what was working perfectly in favor of the iPad way of doing it.
The layout and function of iCal in Tiger was the best for Efficiency and Workflow and I would love to see that return.
The way it is now just makes me sad at how much time I wast at clicking extra buttons to edit things or swapping apps or windows around on screen.
Very Sad.
Anyone else feel the same?
