Mac OS Install Failed

When I attempt to install Leopard on my old 17" PowerBook I receive a strange error message:

Install Failed

Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer

The installer could not validate the contents of the "address book " package.

Contact the software manufacturer for assistance

Then I have the option to Click Restart to try again, and the same message reappears

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Hello,

It would seem to me like you have a faulty DVD disk of 10.5.

Have you tried cleaning the disk with a damp cloth?

Is it a full retail version of the disk?
