How can I get my HP 3055 laserjet to scan to my MacBook Air (seems only to support print)

Just updated my HP 3055 LaserJet PCL6 printer to version (18.4), but it will only allow me to print (no scan). Is scanning supported? Doesn't seem to be. Any workarounds?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion, In conjunction with HP 3055 LJ PCL6

Hej,

I found a hint to a workaround in some HP thread (http://tinyurl.com/c732s6f):

I assume that your 3055 just stopped scanning after the upgrade to mountain lion and asu of HP dirvers. So ceteris paribus all you have to do is copy the file://localhost/Library/Preferences/com.hp.LaserJetAIO.plist to file://localhost/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/com.hp.LaserJetAIO.plist

It is mandatory that you DO NOT delete or uninstall any of your old drivers or HP software, since afaik you cannot (re-)install it under mountain lion!!!

If you cannot find the file on your system -> just copy the file from your time machine to both folders mentioned above!

Hope this also works for you, have fun!

Thanks.....i'll give it a shot. Very helpful.

Did you ever get this to work?

The VueScan webpage for the LJ 3055 specifically states that Mac isn't supported (only Windows).

Or was Lanny's reply intended to convey that the webpage documentation is incorrect and that the Mac (at least under Mountain Lion) actually is supported?
