Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
This solved my problem
This was perfect. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer the question in so much detail. Too many others have given very incomplete or even incorrect answers. Cheers!
Thanks very much for the help. It seems to have worked fine except for one thing. My Photostream is now empty, except for what was the last page of pictures. It's not critical, but it would be nice to get them back in there. Any ideas?
I don't know if it matters or not, but I forgot to mention that the missing photos are all still in the Photostream for my iPod Touch, which had iOS 5.1 when I updated my Apple ID on it. I don't remember how I updated it, but I don't recall it being a problem, and I sure don't remember having to delete the account. I just upgraded my iPod Touch to iOS 6.0.1 from 5.1. Maybe this helps?
Winston Churchill,
Your response here helped to switch my icloud ID over, but the photos and such that were inaccessible are still unable to restore to my iphone. To give you a better idea of what I'm talkking about, I'll explain the situation..
The morning before breaking my recent Iphone 5, it backed up to iCloud automatically. After I went and replaced it with a new iPhone5, I tried to back up the new phone from iCloud so that I would have up-to-date texts, photos, apps, etc. However, before iCloud could complete restoration, it asked me for my old Apple ID password (which I had updated many months beforehand because that email address was deleted). This ID and password combination no longer exists, yet I cannot restore my phone with the data from onyl a week ago without it. I do not understand and I have tried everything to get my old stuff back. Do you know of a solution to this issue?
Woot woot... you solved my problem ... thanks so much for the step by step. Have a great Day🙂
