None of the function keys work on my wireless keyboard. It only makes a noise, i found other discussions, but they say to find an option in the settings menu that doesnt exist

Hold the FN key down as you press the function key. If the function printed on the key works like this than change the option in System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab > uncheck "use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys"

I figured out that it was a bluetooth adaptor that was plugged into my iMac for gaming.
