Mountain Lion Screen Freeze

Hello,

the cursor freezes sometimes, but even when it moves I cannot make anything happen with it except Shut Down, the track pad is unresponsive, and the screen is frozen, and sometimes there are some problems with graphics:

I don't want to jump to any conclusions yet, but I want to give you a good news. Like mokap said it seems that 10.8.2 solves this. I don't have freezes anymore and no more artifacts in Mail. So if you don't want beta wait for couple of days it's gonna be out.

Looks like I have this issue too. Awesome silence from Apple as per usual. At least I know it's a software issue and not a hardware issue.

After the last update to 10.8.1 (and before) this problem has been going randomly, sometimes I could work for 2 days without problems and sometimes this happens every day at any hour.

Someone said in this forum new version 10.8.2 would solve this issue, but I dont know whether Apple is waiting to collect more issues before release a new version. I think probably this problem could be happening to someone else in the world with a MacBook Pro / iMac / so on.. with Mountain Lion ..no just me or the people in this community....pls I think your comments may be echo inside Apple.....keep going commenting...

it seems that not running Mail.app has fixed it for me. No freezes in a significant long time

I dont think that is the problem because im not using Mail.app...Im using Microsoft Outlook...

i don't know... i started seeing glitches in the mail app; text was distorted and it sometimes just showed lines of colors across the app.

Since then i've been very careful about closing mail.app as soon as im finished my business and i have had no freezes ever since, knock on wood

I also have this problem. 15" Retina macbook pro. Had Mail open when it hanged. Only thing working was the mouse/trackpad. Tried deleting the mail in Application Support and now we will see what happens. I'm on 10.8.1

I have the same problem! I have an Early 2011 Macbook Pro i5 with 8gb of ram. I am running Mountain Lion. Any solutions for this yet???

No, it doesn't. The problem is getting worse on my iMac. I got more freez up than 10.8 and 10.8.1. So disappointed.

same with me! Because of those two stupid freezes and couple other things, I have this strong paranoia that there is something wrong with my Mac. I have run Onyx, Geekbench, and other system testing related applications and I haven't found anything wrong but I have had strange things happen before.
