Using Aperture 3.3.2

I ahve always selected photos and hit the 'Email' button and this would open my email client, Entourage, and the files will be attached to a new message.

Sine MK upgrade this has not been the case. A new email will open but will be empty, no attachments and an error message stating that its the 'wrong data'!

Sma thing happens with Mail and Outlook 2011.

Anyone else getting this and any ideas on a fix?

I can do nothing with them!

If I select images and then press the email button it should open my email client and attach the files.

It does open an email that is blank and no attachments.

I thought it was a problem with Aperture on one machine but it happens on three of my computers.

I know the work around is to drag and drop images to the email icon and that attaches it but my photos are about 20mb when converted to jpeg. With the old method I could reduce the size of the file to make emailing easier.

Very dissapointed in ML, pity they did not work all this crap before making it available. I thought on MS does this.

So your version of MS Office with Entourage is working in ML?

Wish I could help you sort this, but need to get a Mac that will both run Aperture and ML. My Mac Pro is too early to allow me to run ML, and I don't dare upgrade my wife's iMac yet, and it probably is not beast enough for Aperture, anyway.

I will try to signal someone I know who is using ML to look at your post.

Yes I am running Office 2008 and 2011 without problem with no upgrades that I know about needed.

I have a MacBook that is too early for ML, but my MB Pro, and iMac both run ML.

Its a very frustrating problem.

I would like to migrate all my photos to Lightroom, but I have 4 Apple TV's multiple iPads, iPhones etc and Aperture just makes more sense. LR does have better editing capabilities as well. I am currently on about 2TB of photos.

Thanks so much for your help though.

I have gotten a very reliable report that the email function is working very well in ML for one of my contacts, including no problem with multiple images appearing in the composed new message. They are not using MS Office on their configuration.

I would be very suspicious of a conflict having devleoped in this interface with both MS Office 2008 and 2011 installed. MS generally recommends using their uninstall function to have only one version installed.

My friend for whom all was working well between Aperture and Mail, as a test installed Office 2011, and reported the same misbehavior you report. She also pointed me to another topic which I think is limited to Outlook, but probably did test the ramifications on all other email clients. See:

Ernie, thanks you so myuch for your help.

I followed your instructiuons all the way to dfind out I had a corrupted HDD. So a full restore was done and all the software had to be reinatalled. Luckily I keep music, photos and movies etc on externall HDD's so it made it less painful.

But the same proiblem was still there, although I ahve a cleaner machine. I followed the link you sent me above and hey presto, we are all working as it should be.

Many thanks for your time today and all your useful suggestions and helped.
