Isopropyl Alcohol under iPhone screen?

Last night I used some Isopropyl Alcohol to clean my iPhone's charging port. However, after turning my phone back on I noticed quite a bit og the alcohol had managed to get itself under my screen. So I then left my phone in a bowl of rice over night, which has taken away the liquid but now I have noticed there is a smear that appears to be under the screen and there is also a yellow spot under the screen. I think the alcohol has damaged the screen but my warranty has just finished so I can't get it replaced. If I leave my phone in the rice will this problem clear eventually or are there any other solutions?

I have just had the same issue yesterday. I used a wipe soaked in isopropyl alcohol to wipe the front of the screen and it wrecked the whole screen. It went into all kinds of strange colours and brightnesses. Does it mean that the screen has some kind of porosity as there did not seem to be enough liquid to seep in through any cracks on the side of it? Having read the comments below about putting it in a bag of rice I have just allowed it to dry out naturally and after 12 hours it is nearly OK again. That is quite a relief. I have not had this problem before as I have always had a shatterproof glass laminate against the iphone screen which has been wipeable with alcohol but I removed it to put in my new Liteproof Nuud case.

I happened to have the same misfortune. I work in a hospital and just because I thought that my mobile needs to be disinfected, I decided to wipe my screen with an isopropyl alochol wipe. In a minute the alcohol seeped through my screen and a blusih tinge appeared on my screen. Referring to this page gave me the idea of putting my cell in a rice of bag. I switched off my cell and put it in a bag of rice for a few hours. IT WORKED. The screen is as good as new now. Try this medieval trick, believe me it works.

Oh my god same problem!!! :(((

I wiped my phone with cotton and alcohol just now which i frequently do.. Then when i checked on my phone, there's this white transparent map-shape thing on the upper left of my screen!! I don't understand how the alcohol would get inside.. Probably from the jack or the earpice?? :( turned it off, then on to check if it would go away, so when i figured it must be the alcohol, turned it off again.. placed it in a bag of uncooked rice now.. :( i'm so scared..

My 3G a year ago fell in the toilet, took it out immediately, rinse it vigorously with liquid soap & water.. Then blowdried & vacuumed it, then placed it in the uncooked rice.. It's still working fine until now, but the camera was busted ever since.

I don't want the same fate for my iphone4 :(
