Web password security in Safari 6 seems poor. Am I missing something?

Web passwords are visible in Safari 6 simply by providing the login password in Safari > Preferences > Passwords. This is a much more "exposed" situation than when you had to dive into Keychain Access to perform this function. Also, Keychain Access provided for a separate password to unlock the keychain -- no such added protection in Safari 6.
