Im on 3.2.2 on ipad 1 .

Want to upgrade to last iOS.

My question is , will that upgrade will erase any data on my iPad coz for some reasons i was not able to make a back up of my iPad...

You can't upgrade to iOS 4. You'll have to upgraded to iOS 5.1.1. You will need to connect your iPad to your computer and update through iTunes. The upgrade process will back things up first.

iOS 5: Updating your device to iOS 5

iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".

Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

My girlfriend has itunes on his pc. Do you think i can upgrade and back up there ?

Once you get to IOS5 you will no longer need to backup to a computer or need a computer to update. You can backup to Icloud and wireless update to IOS6 when it comes out.

But on the first link of texas it says that an upgrade will not back up media data like apps etc...

So i repeat my question, will this update will erase any data from ipad coz i did not have a back up of my ipad for some reasons ....

When you plug in your ipad to your computer(gfs), when you click the update button it will allow you to create a backup onto that computer before it installs ios5. Then when your done it will restore that backup saved on the ocmputer. Incase you loose anything, go into the appstore/itunes and go to purchased. Everything that you have previously purchased will be there for you to download(free). assuming you live in the usa

Im interested in keeping my notes and my pics to be honest.

Will the back up will save it all ?

Yes. I just upgraded my ipad to a 3rd gen. I had a backup saved. Restored that backup and i had EVERYTHING. except one little app i had to redownload. It wasnt installing properly. So I want to say yes.

Dude, im telling you. Its worth the upgrade. Your going to love it 1,000,000,000 more. Youll never have to connect to a computer again. You can backup/save/sync everything on icloud.
