These aren't common problems instead of complaining do some troubleshooting to find out what is worng with your system. Use this article by Thomas A Reed to try and diagnose the problem http://www.reedcorner.net/understanding-upgrade-nightmares/ and make sure your apps are all compatible with Mountain Lion by using this website www.roaringapps.com. Explain your iPhoto problem? Do you mean your photostreaming from your iPhone to Mac isn't working?

Does your iPhone have iCloud? I've never tried viewing photos from my iPhone when connected to my Mac I've only synced photos from my iPhone to my Mac using photostream from iCloud. I did a clean install of Mountain Lion and have seen a significant improvement in performance, boot time, shut down time, and browsing compared to Lion.

Regarding iPhoto, what photos are you expecting to see from your iPhone in iPhoto when the phone is connected to the computer? Note that only photos that are in the Camera Roll are visible in iPhoto. Any that you have synced to your phone some other way, such as through iTunes, won't show up in iPhoto.

As for everything else, as others have told you, that's not normal. In my experience, as well as the experiences of the knowledgeable folks I know who have installed it, ML is faster than Lion. Troubleshooting your problems will be a better choice than trying to get your money back.

It is a plus of Apple, you buy, you plug, it works.

Yes that's how it goes usually. If not you can give your computer back - very good customer service.

It even goes like this most of the time:

You buy, you spend a couple of years installing all sorts of "stuff" that does all sorts of things to your computer, then you do the same yourself, then you upgrade and it still works.

But sometimes it just doesn't in this case.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on but this is the second day that my computer has been operating fantastic. Although it was cranky when I first started it this morning, but a few hours later it got over all the problems and seems to have healed from whatever was causing the problems.

It's like the new ML OS just simply had a very long and bad cold, and now the cold appears to have gone away. I don't think anything I did had any effect on the computer, it just seems to healed itself.

Hopefully the "Cold" stays away from now on.

Wish me luck!
