Where Did It Go?
I can no longer find my iPhone using My Computer. I checked Device Manager to make sure there were no issues with the USB Port(s).
iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1

try rebooting PC and also iPhone
Pete,
Unfortunately, I've tried that multiple times.
Pull the plug on your computer, let it sit for 5 minutes, and plug in back in. (Don't have anything connected to the USB ports when you do this). You do know that the computer will only find your iPhone when there are photos on it to be transferred? Other than that you will just see it in iTunes.
deggie,
You've got to be kidding me! How in the world would I know about the photo thingy? Programmers & companies assume too mch as to what consumers do & do not know. I'll try in a few minutes & let you know.
You would know by reading the manual.
Hi Tina. Have you tried connecting other devices to the same USB Port just to know if it's the iPhone or the port itself.
Dang it, deggie! Cheese & crackers! I got a lot of reading to get done before classes begin. Many thanks!
Yep...to no avail.
Take a picture on your iPhone (actually take 3 just to be sure), connect it to your computer and see if it shows up.
If you are certain that your computer can't detect your iPhone, use another cord/wire.
MAE0125,
I've tried that, too. Someone said that if I don't have pics on the phone, which I've taken with the phone, it will not be recognized by my PC. IDK
hmm. this is strange. but, have you tried taking pictures and then connecting it to the computer? If this is not gonna work, try connecting your phone to a different computer. See if that works, and try connecting other iphones to your computer so we can identify if it's the iphone or the computer.
