does anyone know how to retrieve an ipod serial number from your computer or via any other means

I have I believe a 5th gen Ipod the older ones 30gb white with video...It was stolen and I have no record of the serial number which I need to include on the police report.. Apple could not help me...is there a way to retrieve it from my computer since I have used ipod with Itunes.

Run an iTunes device connectivity test. Near the end of the report there should be a field indicating the last iPod that was synced with that particular iTunes library. It will include the serial # of the device. So if you have already synced another device since then, I'm afraid you are out of luck.
