Get some canned gas and blow out the jack. You should also try resetting (no data loss): Press both home and power button for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.


If that doesn't help, restore in iTunes, first using a backup, and if needed as a new phone, without using a backup,

If restoring as new doesn't help, take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone warranty service in your country.

Hi, I found this works. Go to settings>general>accessibility>Assistive touch. Turn the assistive touch on. You will get a white dot on your screen. Touch the white dot. Touch device in the menu brought up. Touch the unmute to make it say mute. (Unmute means you are muted) hope this helps plenty of people. I just spent a month without any text tones alert sounds or ringers though they would all play on demo and speakers worked just fine. :)
