PC Anywhere alternative?

So, my father lives in south Carolina and is on a windows-based laptop and I live in Seattle and on a MBP running 10.6.8

He's not very savvy with computers, but I am going to visit him in a few weeks.

Is there an alternative to PC Anywhere on the Mac that works with a windows -based laptop?

I'd like to have the ability to "log into" his laptop anytime he has issues and fix them for him all the way over here instead of getting that phone call saying "help!"
