Oct 25, 2012 1:22 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby John Baker1,Not there Carolyn, doesn't show up in Safari or Firefox on my MacBook. I guess I have to go visit the Apple store to try to find out how to download Lion to my old MacBook. I must be clueless again ;-)

Oct 25, 2012 2:54 PM in response to John Baker1by John Baker1,Yep, I'm clueless again. You have to click on the "A" App Store icon on your Mac to get to the App Store. I had thought that I could get to the App Store thru the Apple Store. Silly me. I had to go to the local Apple Store to get some guidance.
The App Store icon should be in your toolbar at the bottom of your screen or you should be able to find it somewhere on your Mac. Then I tried clicking on Purchases like the Apple store guy said but my Lion purchase didn't show up there. Then I tried Categories and found Redeem there and maybe downloaded Lion for my old MacBook there but I haven't found it on my MacBook yet, so will have to do some searching. Oh, I had to go back to Purchases to do the download although the Redeem page said it was downloading Lion. Supposedly downloading now. Very annoying, this process is. Even Mickysoft seems easier to update.

Jun 13, 2015 9:59 AM in response to nicoleba11by sunnyApacheJunction,Click your Apple top left of your screen then click App Store. I found redeem on right of menu screen. Clicked it and put my code in and the screen changed and said youve successfully redeemed your code. Ahhh ok now what,,,is Mountain Lion down loading.Click purchases at top and it will show the download process.

Oct 1, 2015 9:35 AM in response to sunnyApacheJunctionby CycloneJimmy3,This was the only response to the question that made sense, and proved useful and accurate. And I must castigate Apple for making the process so bloody inscrutable and beyond necessarily intricate.

Jun 7, 2016 5:28 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby dumpsterdave,Trying to upgrade an OS X 10.5 machine, where the App Store (as an OSX App) doesn't (yet) exist. Is there a way to get at it on-line?

Click on this. When it opens look to right of the screen and you will see Quick Links. Under that is a list of options one being 'Redeem'. Click on that. Then enter the redemption code that you have been e-mailed in the box that you see, to download. What Apple DO NOT MAKE CLEAR is that the Apple Store is different, to the App Store that you access from your tool bar.
