Error creating new Open Directory domain

The wizard for creating a new Open Directory domain in Server.app on Mountain Lion responds with the following error message:

"An error occurred while configuring My Server as a directory server. Please check your network configuration and try again."

Not very helpful. How do find out what the actual error is?

Thanks.

Unless you're showing the same Kerberos errors, I'd suggest starting a new thread with a few more details.

When troubleshooting a server, please launch Terminal.app and issue the following (diagnostic) command:

sudo changeip -checkhostname

and it'll show you some network information and then an indication that DNS is correct and no changes are required, or an indication that there are network or DNS errors. (Many services are dependent on DNS, and DNS errors are a common cause of weird problems with other services.)

thaks, i ran the code:

"....

The names match. There is nothing to change.

dirserv:success = "success"

"

i do get the same error:

"An error occurred while configuring My Server as a directory server. Please check your network configuration and try again."

when i try to create an open directory or when i try to configure my profile manager. The thing that i realized that when i check off "Sign Configuration Profile", i cannot see my SSL certificate, which is valid.

For me now, i have everything on hold untill i revolve this problem. The only thing left is to wipe off my whole system and restart fresh and that's what i have been avoiding.
