10.8 Server.app file permissions for 'Websites'

I manually edited a few Apache config files on a new/clean/unmigrated 10.8 server, trying to get stuff working, like

/Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/httpd_server_app.conf

/private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-ssl.conf

/private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf

perhaps a few others 😊

Eventually things started working as desired using apachectl. However now I'm unable to do anything with Server.app in the 'Websites' area without getting the error:

An error occurred on the server while processing a command.

The error occurred while processing a command of type 'writeSettings' in plug-in 'serverMgr_web'

So it would appear my editing has modified file permissions somewhere to a state Server.app cannot write to any longer. Can anyone tell me what files & file permissions need be for Server.app to be a happy camper?

Thx!

Should anyone care, apparently if files like 0000_any_443_.conf are manually edited in any way Server.app punts the football & gives up with the above error. Seems like a hyper-sensitive hard-coded parser.

FWIW, I had only added 1 line defining the param ServerName since I was seeing errors like this in the log:

[warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `secure.mycompany.com' does NOT match server name!?

Defining ServerName squelched this warning but causes Server.app to pout.
