My iPod charge and discharge very fast.

I have bought a travel charger for my iPod touch, and since I charge my iPod with that, the ipod charge and discharge very fast. Also happens that when I discharge the battery, when I plugged the charger, the iPod turns on when that doesn't happened when I charged it at the first time. Anybody can explain me What is happening with my iPod, please?

You may have ruined the battery by using an incompatible charger.

Apple uses a very standard charger protocol, so most generic charges should work without problems (scare messages to the contrary are probably incorrect). Still, the charger could be defective (have you used it successfully on other devices?). Or coincidentally your battery may fave failed. Set up an appointment at the Genius bar of an Apple store to check the battery.
