I used the same method, from the same site. Still nothing.
It's not postfix, because I can use sendmail straight from Terminal and it sends email.
It's between php and sendmail that something doesn't happen.
that's based on comparing mail.log entries between sendmail and php mail()
I too need to find a resolution for this problem.

In my /etc/php.ini file, I had to tell it where mail is located.
