I want to upload files from my mac in folders
Is this possible, or do I HAVE to upload file by file.
If the latter it will take ages as I have LOADS to upload.
Thanks

Upload to where? You've posted in the iWeb forum which doesn't seem relevant unless you are talking about an iWeb website.
You cannot upload files (or websites) to iCloud - it has no general file storage.
You can upload files, folders or websites to another hosting service using an FTP program. There is no problem about uploading folders.
If you are using iWeb '09 or above you can upload your site directly to a hosting service using the FTP option in the 'Publish' pane.
If you are uploading to anywhere using a browser you cannot upload folders - this is a limitation of http, the connection method in browsers.
Thanks for your reply Roger.
I am using iweb and have lots of pdf files I want to upload to my website with the inbuilt FTP program.
Unable to put folders from my hard disk, mac, into iweb.
I have tried to edit my site in iweb but am unable to open a box to type in which seems a bit strange.
I have a front page which is not totlay used and want to add more words but am unable to do so.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Bilbo.
You would need to upload your folders of PDF's to your web host with a FTP program like CyberDuck
See this page for info about preparing, uploading and providing PDF downloads...

If iWeb is acting up, see the section about troubleshooting on this page...

Also, if/when you have upgrade to Lion/Mountain Lion this info will help...
Hi Jeff
Cyberduck looks good.
Just wondering how I get it to work with iweb.
Thanks
Hi Roddy
These are helpful pages.
What I really want is a "Drag and Drop" editer.
Can anybody help with that ?
Not too expensive though
Thanks
You would simply enter the FTP information for logging into Web Host. Then, you could drag the folder of PDF's from your desktop (or where ever they are stored) into the cyberduck window.
You should end up with a URL that looks something like:
www.YourWebSite.com/PDF/document.pdf
If you mean a drag and drop FTP app, the one I use is available in a Lite version for only $1.99 and is way better than Cyberduck...

Cyberduck is actually donationware and I always feel bad unless I donate at least 5 bucks for software like this. Yummy Lite is therefore cheaper unless you are really mean and don't want to support Cyberduck's development!
