Aug 12, 2012 6:34 AM in response to Mr Bacigalupeby King_Penguin,You can use home sharing to stream music to an iPad or iPhone (or to copy music between computers), but you can't use it to copy music from a device to a computer - you will need to connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Transfer Purchases to copy your Apple purchases to that computer.

Aug 12, 2012 6:43 AM in response to King_Penguinby Mr Bacigalupe,That is great but most of my music is not Apple purchases and my PC is new. You still do not address my question as to how to get home sharing on my new PC. It disappears as soon as you click done. But thanks anyway.

Aug 12, 2012 6:50 AM in response to Mr Bacigalupeby King_Penguin,If your music isn't already on your computer and/or on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program for your computer that can copy it off the iPad - you can't do via home sharing nor via iTunes.
You have home sharing turned 'on' on your iPad and/or iPhone, and they are connected to the same network as your PC ? Your computer's iTunes library should then show in the Music app on those devices (under the More button), but you won't see your iPad's or iPhone's library on your computer's iTunes. If you are having problems with it on your PC then you might be better off posting in the iTunes For Windows forum
