how can I tell which version of ARD client is installed

Hi all

Having problems here: have upgraded 3 home Macs to Mountain Lion. Installed Apple Remote Desktop from the App store on one.

I have tried to manage the other two macs but Apple Remote Desktop says the version of ARD is too old and needs to be 3.3.1 or above- yet I have installed Mountain Lion which is supposed to be version 3.6.2... I downloaded and installed 3.6.2. I shut down and re-started. Still no success being able to monitor or control the other Macs

How can I;

1. tell what version is really running on the other 2 macs (the column in ARD is empty as I am not informed I am not allowed to manage them)?

2 manually COMPLETELY remove the client and reinstall?

Has anyone else had these problems with ARD and Mountain Lion?
