There are 6 of us in a small office all using OS 10.7.4. We have a 3TB external drive. We would all like to use Time Machine to back up our computers to this single external hard drive. We are not connected by a network but would simply connect and disconnect each computer to the external hard drive using a USB 2.0 cable. Will this work?
Yes it will but Make a separate partition for each user/computer. Name the partitions for the Mac they will be used with. Once setup the first time they will be remembered for future TM backups.
But then if that one external fails you lose all the backups for all systems.
