Lot's of discussion about this in regard to the iPad 2, which makes it sound problematic, but nothing in regard to the iPad 3.
Has anyone given it a go?

Q: iPad 3 and Flip Ultra HD - Can i connect, upload and edit using the camera connection kit?
The iPad 3 runs the same iOS version as the iPad 2.
