Power Nap and MacBook Air, mid 2011

Does Power Nap work when the lid is closed and the MacBook Air is put to sleep? Power Nap is in the System Preferences, and checked on for both Power Adapter and Battery. At least Time Machine has never run when the lid is closed.

Unless, I have missed it, I have yet to see any mention whether Power Nap workis with any of the MacBooks lids closed in the Knowledge Base Artilcles, or the Discussions.

Although this isn't important, it would be nice to know the answer.

Yes, it works with the lid closed and in sleep mode. The Time Machine backup only occurs when the power adapter is attached.

cpatfred, thank you for the confirmation. It is helpful to know that Time Machine should backup while the lid is closed. My puzzlement is that I plug in the power, and shut the lid. The next day when I check, the last backup occurred prior to shutting the lid.
