I jsut got my MacBook Pro and im still learning how to run everything but i cant figure out how to install my Sims 3 game. I put it in and it acts like it is going to bring up an installer window like my old Dell used to do but then it stops and nothing happens. Where do i need to go to download the game?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
do you see the game disc show up on your desktop?
If so, click that and click on Installer to start the installation.
no that is the same thing that the EA website said but i put the disc in, it acts like it runs (the disc spins), then stops and nothing happens, is there any way to go in like you can on windows in your browser and tell it to download?
I dont think it is gonna work, i went to file>openfile>devices>sims3>and it has the installer there but the open button wont let me click on it.. so i dont know what else to try..
Go to the top menu bar where it says Finder (if it doesnt, click anywhere on your desktop and it should show up)
Click on "Finder" Go to "Preferences", then under the "General" tab where it sais "Show these items in the desktop" make sure the option "CDs, DVDs and Ipods" is checked.
Close that window and reinsert the game disc.
It should show up on your desktop, a CD icon, just click on that icon.
is the game Mac compatiable? sorry if stupid question...but gotta rule it out.
Ok i did that and reinserted the disc and nothing happened... i went back to the preferences and it was check marked but it didnt change anything.. it sounded like it should have worked thank you, but i dont know why it wont..
To rule out if your computer is not recognizing the disc, try inserting any other CD, does it show up on the desktop?
If it does, then the only other thing I can think of is that your Sims 3 install disc is damaged?

ok so i wiped of the disc again and clicked on the home screen so it said finder at the top, then i went to go>Downloads>Devices>Sims_3>Sims_3_Installer and it worked and now it is installing so i dont know why it did this time but thank you for the help!
and yeah it says mac compatable on the box lol
