How to connect time machine to newly migrated MBP
Just migrated to a newer MBP and want to have it appear as the same machine to time machine. This would keep all my TM history intact and not begin again with a full backup. Any ideas?

Look at this: "Reconnecting" to your backups.
You may be able to continue your backups without aa ful backup, but it is not soemting that can be always avoided.
Hi Steve
yeah, it didn't like the "inheritbackup" command. Errored out with:
Failed to attach disk image. (error 35)
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
use migration assistant this will help you to connect to an existing time machine, restore files from it and keep back up with it, once you connect the machine and done with backup to the time machine, all your backups will be available, if you are using mountain lion.
