I left it at home for 3 weeks while I was on holiday and it was out of charge. When I returned, I charged it and was told "iPod is disabled. Try again in 22 million minutes". I just want to know why this happened, as I did nothing out of the ordinary with it.

This is what the lock screen looked like.
Not sure why it's disabled unless you entered the wrong password too many times.
Restore the iPod by placing it in recovery mode.

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
Thanks for the help; the iPod seemed to return to normal when it was plugged into the computer - still don't know why it happened though as I didn't enter the passcode incorrectly. I'm guessing it's just a bug or something - other people seem to have had a similar problem.
